Description: New to ISSUP Academy? Start here. What the Academy is, who can use it, and what to do on your first visit.
What is ISSUP Academy?
ISSUP Academy is ISSUP's online learning platform, built for people working in the substance use and drug control workforce. This includes health, treatment and recovery support professionals, prevention practitioners, market disruption and supply, law enforcement, policymakers, and family and community-led groups.
Finish a course, and you get a certificate or specialisation; these courses also carry NAADAC Continuing Education credits.

Who can use the Academy?
Anyone with an ISSUP membership. Not a member yet? You can apply on ISSUP.net.
Membership is free and open to anyone working or studying in substance use and related fields.
You will be given provisional membership, which gives you access to ISSUP Academy. Once your membership has been fully reviewed and accepted, you'll receive an email and have access to all ISSUP products and services.
Applications are checked against the membership criteria and reviewed before approval.
What should I do on my first visit?
- Sign up for a free membership, or sign in if you're already an ISSUP member here.
- Open Explore Courses and look through the catalogue.
- Found something? Open it and select Enrol Me.
- My Learning is where everything you enrol on lives. That is where you will pick up next time.
What do the items in the top menu do?
- Home is the Academy homepage.
- My Learning shows the courses and programs you are enrolled on, with your progress.
- My Courses lists your courses on their own, filtered by in progress, future or past.
- Explore Courses is the full catalogue.
- The bell is notifications and the speech bubble is messages. Your initial or photo on the right opens your profile, preferences and sign-out.
Do I need to install anything?
No, the Academy runs in any web browser on a computer, tablet or phone. There is also a Moodle Workplace App; please find a guide for this below.
Is there a cost?
ISSUP membership is free, and courses are free to members today. Some courses will carry a fee in future. When one does, you will see the price on the course page before you enrol.
